Muallaf

Went to The Curve with the famili to watch Muallaf ;) and everything is still on Sales. Shit!

Direct translation Muallaf is the Convert.  Contrary to the translation of the film's title, Muallaf does not tell  a non-Muslim who converted his religion to Islam. It's a story about a Catholic boy who lost faith in his religion as a child being embarrassed by his strict Catholic father, later in his life met two sisters happened to be Muslims and he gained a simple knowledge of Islam, had a change of his heart and return home to his mother - finally after numerous times persuading him to come home.

Simple. I've got no idea whatsoever why they need to censor this film maybe it's beyond my knowledge that I did not know. They probably has a reason for it. Well, for whatever the reason is, thank you for showing it here in Malaysia.

Well, from my point of view, from what I understand after watching this movie is that, nowadays people tend to forget what Islam is really all about. It got nothing to do with buruk-burukkan mana-mana agama, it teaches us that all Agama leads to one thing; Peace!

With Peace, everyone in this world can learn Islam. because there is no one in this world likes violence. Everyone, you and me loves to be treated good. That's what people tend to forget nowadays. We don't really have to go to rumah anak-anak yatim to be kind (well, that's a good thing if you like helping anak-anak yatim) cause I'm just saying you don't really need to be on the street 24/7 to save lives, look at your surroundings, your parents, famili, friends, cats - starts from there. I'm really touched when in the movie, Rohani (Sharifah Amani) asked Brian (Brian Yap), what do you get when you yelled at your mother? are you happy? are your mom's happy?, when Rahoni and Rohana (Sharifah Aleysha) before they go to sleep, EVERY NITE, they forgive everyone who used to hurt them that day hoping tomorrow is a brand new day and start a fresh. I know it's not easy to forgive people apatah lagi to easily forget what they did to us so therefore we must think, think twice before we do/did anything so that no one gets hurt because of us. I remember reading an article in newspaper, there's a girl asking for forgiveness from her friends from Uni because she did stupid things during her life and finding it hard to find everyone she used to hurt so therefore she's writing it down publicly hoping there's a small chance her friends will read it and have a heart to forgive her. We're not God you know, we do make mistakes and we don't have the Kuasa to hukum people easily. please people, find a place in your heart to forgive everyone that have hurt you badly ;)

Therefore, I'm here to seek forgiveness from any of you who is reading this, I'm so sorry if I ever hurt you directly or indirectly, from the bottom of my heart, I'm sorry ;)

I love the part when Rohani told Brian that She needs to stay in KL to take care of her ill dad, f.y.i, her dad is a bad person he treated them badly he likes to scold them until they ran away from home but in the end, when your dad is ill, despite of all the bad things he did to you, Rohani is there to take care of him, to love him - just because he is her dad. I always reckon that to bring one closer to your heart is thru kindness and I think it's true - be kind to others, others will be kind to you ;)

50% or more of the movie talks in English. A really nice one to watch. a bit 'berat' but well if you have a chance or spare time, just hit the cinema and see it for yourself, who knows you might love it, because I do ;)

To late Yasmin Ahmad, moga Roh anda tergolong di antara orang orang yang beriman. ameen.
